PSHCE

Personal, social, health, citizenship and economic education, or PSHCE, aims to give children the knowledge, skills and understanding to lead confident, healthy and independent lives.

There are three core themes of primary school PSHCE:

  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Relationships
  • Living in the Wider World: economic well being and being a responsible citizen.

And some emphasis on what it takes to be a good citizen.

Through these themes, learners:

  • ● Understand their emotions and how to manage them.
  • ● Their healthy life choices.
  • ● Their relationships with peers, family, friends and those less known to them.
  • ● How what happens locally, nationally and internationally has an effect on them.
  • ● Financial and social literacy, so that they appreciate their rights as citizens and as upstanding members of society nationally and internationally
